A small plane crashed into a commercial warehouse near Fullerton Municipal Airport, causing a fire and injuring 15 people, officials said.

Firefighters are responding to a plane crash near the Fullerton Airport Thursday afternoon.

The plane crash was reported in the 2300 block of Raymer Street just after 2 p.m. Thursday, and more than 100 people were evacuated from the building, according to the Fullerton Police Department.

The accident occurred approximately half a mile from the Fullerton Airport.

As of 3:30 p.m., 15 people were being treated for injuries, police spokeswoman Christy Wells said.

Helicopter footage seen by ABC7 showed black smoke billowing from the plane as it crashed on top of a large commercial warehouse. According to the station, multiple fire departments were at the scene fighting the fire.

Information about the cause of the crash was not immediately available.
