Shaq Finally Sells Florida Mansion For $11 Million

Basketball legend Shaquille O’Neal relisted his Florida home (5 listings) for more than his NBA championship (4 listings), but the A-lister ultimately sold the mega-mansion for $11 million. . This is approximately a 60% discount compared to the original price of $28 million.

The huge deal ends a three-year saga in which he appointed five different agents to sell the place.

“Number 5 was the lucky one,” said Benjamin Hillman of Premier Sotheby’s International Realty, who ultimately closed the sale. “Shaq trusted me to find a buyer, so I promised to represent him.”

The 31,000-square-foot shack-sized property overlooks Lake Butler in the gated golf community of Isleworth, just outside Orlando, and has the most extensive list of amenities of any property in the country. O’Neal, 49, played for six teams during his illustrious career and won three NBA championships with the Lakers and one with the Heat. In 2011, he joined TNT’s “Inside the NBA” program as an analyst and five years later was inducted into the Basketball Hall of Fame.

Records show he bought the property in 1993 for $3.95 million.

Hillman remained publicly traded. Rob Larter of Stockworth Realty Group represented the buyer.
